The Northramp Career Model

At Northramp, we believe successful careers are built through a combination of performance and individual passions, not 'time-in' or forced ranking systems with annual winners and losers. Our career model and performance expectations reflect this perspective. In a nutshell, there is really only one role in our firm regardless of staff level: Account and Delivery Professional. As illustrated below, individuals drive value by (A) building and leading capabilities within the firm, and (B) delivering services to clients.

To a large extent, individuals self-select what level of each of these roles they wish to contribute in. However, a typical career at Northramp generally moves through four basic phases across these areas of contribution:

  1. Initially focusing on delivering quality services and creating quality products in a direct client-billable capacity.

  2. Graduating from the primary responsibility of managing yourself to managing others by owning work-streams/projects and the associated client relationships.

  3. Managing a portfolio of projects and relationships, including responsibilities for attracting and leading pools of talent.

  4. Leading a portfolio of account managers and managing major aspects of the firm's vision and mission.

At every level the expectation is essentially the same: deliver direct value to clients; grow a portfolio of relationships and clients; identify, attract, and invest in quality talent; build solutions that solve real market challenges; and invest in your own professional development. In the end, success, and the rewards that come with it, are a direct result of an individual’s performance and desired areas of focus.
